Is breathwork suitable for beginners?

Yes. You don’t need previous experience. Sessions are guided and adapted to the individual or group.

What can I expect from breathwork?

Every experience is different. People may experience relaxation, emotional release, physical sensations, insights or simply a greater sense of presence and calm.

How often should I do breathwork?

There is no universal answer. Some people benefit from occasional sessions, while others choose regular practice as part of their routine

Is breathwork a therapy?

Breathwork is complementary therapy and provides support for emotional wellbeing and personal growth, but it is not a replacement for medical treatment or psychological therapy.

Can I do breathwork if I have a health condition?

Some medical conditions require modifications or may make certain breathwork practices unsuitable. Conscious Connected Breathwork is a very gentle but effective modality. Please discuss relevant health conditions with your Breathwork Practitioner before booking your sessions. If you are receiving treatment or living with a significant health or mental health condition, please discuss whether breathwork is appropriate for you with your healthcare professional.

Can breathwork bring up emotions?

It can. When we slow down and become more aware of our bodies, emotions that have been pushed aside may become more noticeable.

You don’t need to force an emotional release. The intention is to create a safe space to notice what is present and allow your experience to unfold naturally.

Do I have to cry or release emotions for breathwork to work?

Absolutely not.

Some people cry. Some laugh. Some feel sensations or memories. Others experience calm, clarity or simply deep relaxation.

There is no achievement in breathwork.

Can breathwork help with personal growth?

It can be a powerful tool for self-awareness. By becoming more connected to your body, emotions and inner experience, you may begin to recognise patterns, beliefs and behaviours that no longer serve you.

The breath doesn’t give you all the answers. It can help create enough space for you to hear your own.

Can I do breathwork if I’m not spiritual?

Absolutely.

You don’t need to follow any spiritual belief system. Breathwork can simply be approached as a practical way to explore breathing, wellbeing, self-awareness and your relationship with your body.

You decide what the experience means to you.

Is breathwork suitable during pregnancy?

Not all breathwork practices are appropriate during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. Please speak with your healthcare professional before participating, and let your Breathwork Practitioner know about your pregnancy before booking.

Should I discuss my health with Breathwork Practitioner?

Yes.

Some health conditions may require adaptations or may make certain breathing practices unsuitable.

Please disclose relevant medical conditions before your session so that the practice can be assessed and adapted appropriately.

Can breathwork help after trauma?

Breathwork may support awareness, grounding and emotional regulation, but trauma requires care and appropriate support.

If you have significant or complex trauma, breathwork should be approached carefully and, where appropriate, alongside qualified trauma-informed professional support.

What if I don’t want to talk about my personal experiences?

You don’t have to.

Breathwork doesn’t require you to tell your story or explain everything you are feeling.

You can simply breathe and experience what arises.

Can breathwork be done in a group?

Yes. Group sessions can create a powerful sense of shared presence and connection while each person experiences their own individual journey.

Can breathwork be used in businesses and teams?

Yes. Breathwork can be adapted for workplaces to support stress regulation, focus, communication, connection and resilience.

Sessions can be designed for employees, leadership teams, management groups, wellbeing programmes and corporate events.

Can breathwork support athletes?

Yes. Breathwork can be incorporated into performance and wellbeing programmes to support focus, regulation, recovery, resilience and the ability to stay present under pressure.

What should I expect after a session?

You may feel relaxed, energised, emotional, reflective or simply different from when you arrived.

Some people notice that their experience continues to unfold afterwards through thoughts, feelings, dreams or insights.

Give yourself some space after a session rather than immediately rushing back into a busy schedule.

How do I know if breathwork is right for me?

You don’t have to know before you try.

If you’re curious, open to exploring yourself and willing to give yourself some time and space, that may be enough to begin.

The best way to understand breathwork is to experience it.
